Archival footage shot by an American filmmaker in downtown Philadelphia around Independence Mall, across from Independence Hall, in 1976.
It contains stock footage of a parade/celebration of the 30th Anniversary of the state of Israel held by Beth Sholom Congregation, a Conservative synagogue in Elkins Park. The Germantown Jewish Center, also a Conservative synagogue, followed the group from Beth Sholom.
The man at the front of the Beth Sholom group is the rabbi at the time – Aaron Landes. The groups are shown walking east along Chestnut Street, north on 5th Street, and then west on Market Street. Near the end of the footage the then-mayor of Philadelphia, Frank Rizzo, is shown speaking in a pavilion.
