Archival footage shot by French filmmaker in the French Indochina (today’s Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia) in 1935. The film was probably commissioned by a French Army officer and portrays members of his family along with local soldiers (Garde Indigene) and ordinary people.
It contains stock footage of various places and situations around the French Colony: a young French man on the beach, fishermen, a Indo-Chinese platoon lined up in front of the French officer, people eating on the ground, a Garde Indigene station entrance, man visiting the French Foreign Legion monument in Son Tay (in today’s Vietnam), an aircraft flying over a river, a mongoose and cobra fight in a river, and more.
